Malaj meets the IMF Mission Chief - Focus on economic stability and structural reforms
The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, hosted a meeting with the Head of Mission of the International Monetary Fund for Albania, Diego Cerdeiro, as part of periodic consultations on economic and fiscal developments in the country.
During the meeting, the performance of the Albanian economy was discussed, which according to assessments has continued to show stability and positive growth rates, despite the challenges arising from the international environment. The focus of the talks was also the medium-term perspective of the country's economic development.
Minister Malaj praised the close and constructive cooperation with the IMF, emphasizing the importance of the institution's support in the design and implementation of economic and fiscal policies aimed at guaranteeing macroeconomic stability and long-term development of Albania.
For his part, Diego Cerdeiro praised the progress achieved by Albania in maintaining macroeconomic stability, underlining the importance of continuing prudent fiscal policies and reforms that support sustainable economic growth.
During the meeting, the need to continue structural reforms aimed at increasing productivity, improving the business climate, developing human capital, and advancing Albania's European integration process was also discussed.
