“Youth Able for Wellbeing and Employment” - “SOS Children's Villages” and AKPA sign a memorandum of cooperation

From insecurity to self-confidence, professional training and employment. This is the goal of the new project "Youth Can for Well-being and Employment", officially presented by "SOS Children's Villages Albania".
The initiative will last 4 years and will involve young people aged 15 to 29 in Tirana and Shkodra, with the aim of supporting their transition to the labor market and financial independence.
At the heart of the project is not only employment, but also emotional well-being, orientation to support services, and empowering young people to make informed decisions about their future.
“YouthCan was born from listening to the voices of young people. We strongly believe that every young person has potential, every young person has skills, every young person has dreams and, above all, every young person deserves real opportunities to move forward. Today we are not just launching a project. Today we are launching a shared belief: that young people can, that young people deserve opportunities and that together we can build a more inclusive and just society ,” said Mimoza Manaj, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Albania.
The National Employment and Skills Agency also provided support for the project. The Director General of AKPA, Klevis Hysa, described the initiative as an important instrument for orienting young people towards the labor market, vocational training and existing employment services.
“SOS Children's Villages is one of the organizations that has had a great impact on the community and on young people over the past 30 years. I strongly believe that YouthCan will be in line with this impact, supporting young people in their steps towards life and work. This project aims to inform young people about the opportunities that exist in the market and to orient them towards employment, training and vocational education services.”
An important part of the launch was also the strengthening of institutional cooperation. In this context, two Memorandums of Understanding were signed, one between SOS Children's Villages Albania and AKPA, as well as another with the Youth and Social Welfare Agency of the Municipality of Tirana.
Through this project, the aim is to create a stronger bridge between young people, public institutions and the labor market, giving them more opportunities for professional development, economic independence and social integration.
