Shëngjin Bypass, a key investment for traffic relief/ Rama: The new

The Shëngjin Bypass, one of the most important infrastructure investments in the development of tourism in the north of the country, is expected to be completed in February 2027.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared photos from the construction site today, announcing that this new axis will relieve traffic in the center of Shëngjin, significantly improving vehicle movement during the summer season. It will also create a faster connection between Shëngjin, Rana e Hedhun and further to Velipoja.

Built along the slope of Mount Rrenc, the bypass will serve not only as a transport infrastructure, but also as a panoramic segment that is expected to increase the tourist attractiveness of the area.

The road segment is 8.1 kilometers long and is financed by the Albanian Development Fund. Works are being carried out simultaneously in both directions of the road route, while the project will also be connected to the new Shëngjin-Velipoja axis.
