New road Roskovec-Lushnje/ ARRSH opens tender for design, new axis about 22 km

The Albanian Road Authority has opened the tender for the study and design of a new road axis that will connect the cities of Roskovec and Lushnja. The procedure with a limited fund of about 24 million lek aims to draft a detailed project for one of the new road connections in the western lowlands of the country.
According to the tender documents, the new road will be a completely new axis, with an approximate length of about 22 kilometers. The route will start near the city of Roskovec, on the Pošnjë–Roskovec–Fier axis, and will end near Lushnje, on the Berat–Lushnje axis. The project also foresees the construction of a new bridge over the Seman River, which divides the territory of the two municipalities.
According to the terms of reference, the road will be classified as category C3, or secondary interurban road, and will be designed with the aim of facilitating traffic movement, increasing road safety and creating a faster connection between the two areas.
The documents require the consultant to analyze at least two possible route variants, while the project will also have to include connecting nodes, road signage, lighting, greenery, and secondary roads that will provide access for local communities.
According to the ARRSH, one of the main objectives of the investment is to bypass the residential centers of Roskovec and Lushnja, reducing traffic in urban areas and improving safety for vehicles and pedestrians.
