During 2025, Albanian residents over the age of 15 made about 4.5 million trips within and outside the country, for personal or business purposes. The data shows that the vast majority of these movements are related to leisure, holidays and family visits, while business trips remain at a lower weight.
According to statistics, 97.6% of trips were made for personal reasons, while only 2.4% for business purposes. The summer months continue to be the most active periods for travel, with the peak in August, which accounts for 12.6% of the total, followed by June with 10.9% and July with 9.8%. An increase in movements was also recorded in December, with 10.2%, mainly related to the holiday period.
Within the territory of Albania, around 4.4 million personal trips were made, with the main motive being "vacation and leisure", accounting for 52.8% of the total. Meanwhile, for trips abroad, the main reason was visiting relatives and friends, with 52% of cases.
Movements outside Albania have marked a significant increase in 2025, increasing by 14.3% compared to 2024. In parallel with this trend, Albanians have used more accommodation structures such as hotels and rental facilities (Airbnb, etc.), which increased by 5.6% and 5.9% respectively.
Among the most notable developments was the increase in the use of air transport, which recorded the highest growth of around 14%, reflecting a greater trend for faster travel and destinations abroad. These figures show a year of more mobility and a strong return of travel as part of the Albanian lifestyle.
