New 35 kV Kavajë–Rrogozhinë/OSSH line, investment of almost 300

The High Voltage Directorate of OSSH sh.a has announced the procurement procedure for the construction of the new 35 kV Kavajë–Rrogozhinë line.

According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the limit fund for this project is 299 million and 991 thousand lekë. The project envisages the construction of a new 35 kV line from the 110/35/20/6 kV substation of Kavaja to the 35/10 kV substation of Rrogozhina.

The new line will be approximately 19 kilometers long and will be built on a new route, with insulation suitable for the transition to 110 kV voltage in the future. The project will be implemented with modern standards, the Public Procurement Agency document states.

According to the OSSH, the main goal of this investment is to increase the electricity distribution capacities in the coastal areas from Spilleja to Divjaka, as well as to improve the security of supply for the Divjaka and Ballaj substations. Currently, these areas are supplied by a line built in 1965 and considered depreciated due to its advanced age.

The document further emphasizes that, through this project, the aim is not only to guarantee a more stable supply of electricity, but also to create conditions for the economic and tourist development of coastal areas. According to the technical report of the project, about 11,815 subscribers will directly benefit from this investment. Among the main benefits, there are the increase in the transmission and distribution capacities of the medium voltage network, the reduction of technical losses, the improvement of the quality of supply and the creation of opportunities for the integration of renewable energy sources, especially photovoltaic plants.

The project also envisages reducing power outages, improving voltage levels and increasing service quality indicators, guaranteeing higher standards for household consumers and businesses in the area.

The OSSH estimates that the construction of this new line constitutes a long-term investment in energy security and a step towards the modernization of the electricity network in areas with rapid economic and tourist development.
