Albanians "obsessed" with the Iphone/ Apple deepens its lead in Albania, Samsung loses ground

The Albanian smartphone market is increasingly dominated by Apple. According to data published by StatCounter for May 2026, the American company owns 56.39% of the smartphone market in the country, leaving behind its main rivals by a significant margin.
The data shows that Apple has not only maintained its leading position, but has also recorded continuous growth over the past year. In April 2025, its market share hovered around 49%, while in the first months of 2026 it reached record levels, temporarily exceeding the 60% threshold. Although a slight decline was recorded in May, the company remains far ahead of any other competitor.
In second place is Samsung with 26.61% of the market. The South Korean giant has suffered a significant decline compared to a year ago, when it controlled approximately 38% of the Albanian smartphone market. This indicates that some users have switched to Apple devices or other Android brands that are gaining popularity.
One of the most interesting developments of the recent period is the growth of Google. Pixel phones have managed to secure 7.28% of the market in May 2026, ranking as the third most used brand in Albania. This represents a significant increase and suggests that more and more consumers are turning to devices that offer the pure Android experience and the latest artificial intelligence features.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi continues to maintain a modest presence with 3.81% of the market. The unidentified device category (“Unknown”) accounts for 3.55%, while Motorola remains a very small player with just 0.38%.
The figures also show that the Albanian market is becoming increasingly concentrated. Apple and Samsung alone together control around 83% of all mobile devices in use in the country. This underlines the dominance of the two global giants in a market where competition from other brands remains limited.
