Brussels/ Albanian Customs part of processes for global goods classification standards

Representatives of the Albanian Customs Administration participated in the 67th session of the Subcommittee on the Revision of the Harmonized System, held at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization, in Brussels.
During the session, experts from member countries discussed a series of proposals for updating the Harmonized System (HS), as well as the international standard used for classifying goods in global trade.
The debates also focused on adapting the customs nomenclature to economic and technological developments, including new products and technologies, the transition towards a green economy, and increasing the transparency of international trade flows.
The participation of the Albanian delegation in this technical forum is considered an important opportunity to contribute to processes that directly impact global commodity classification standards and the facilitation of international trade.
The Albanian Customs Administration emphasizes that active engagement in the technical groups and decision-making structures of the World Customs Organization helps strengthen institutional capacities and harmonize national practices with the most advanced international standards.
