Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha/ Spahiu: People should reflect more on

Muslim believers celebrated Eid al-Adha, the second most important holiday in the Islamic calendar, this Wednesday.

Thousands of Muslim believers gathered in the early hours of the morning on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard in Tirana, as well as in mosques and squares in other cities in the country, to pray the Eid al-Adha prayer.

In his welcoming speech to the believers, the Head of the Albanian Muslim Community, Bujar Spahiu, conveyed a message of solidarity.

" This holiday invites people to reflect more on each other, to be closer to families, the elderly, people in need, orphans and every heart that needs support and hope. Qurbani is not just a religious ritual, it is an act of solidarity, sharing and caring for others," said Spahiu .

Eid al-Adha has its origins in the story of the prophet Ibrahim, who according to Islamic belief agreed to sacrifice his son as a proof of faith in God, but in the end the sacrifice was replaced with a ram, which is why Muslim believers also make a sacrifice on this day, as a symbol of sacrifice, faith, and solidarity.
