OSSH modernizes the electricity network in Orikum Beach. The aim is a stable and uninterrupted supply.

The Regional Directorate of OSSH Vlora has announced the opening of the competition for an investment in the energy network of the Orikum area. The project foresees the development of 20 kilovolt medium voltage lines, the construction and reconstruction of electrical cabins, as well as the expansion of the low voltage network for electricity supply in the Orikum Plazh area and the village of Tragjas. The limit fund of this investment reaches 239 million and 268 thousand lekë.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, this project envisages the design and construction of a new 20 kV medium voltage distribution network in the area of Orikum Beach and the village of Tragjas, which is supplied with electricity from the 110/35/20 kV Orikum i Ri substation.
The Orikum area is part of the Vlora Municipality and constitutes one of the most frequented areas during the tourist season. These factors have influenced the significant increase in the demand for electricity, exceeding the current capacities of the distribution network. For this reason, it is necessary to intervene with the reconstruction and increase of the capacities of the electrical infrastructure, in order to guarantee a quality service for existing consumers and to meet the expected long-term demands of the area.
The project envisages the construction of new substations; the reconstruction of existing substations; the installation of a low-voltage network. The document emphasizes that the aim is to modernize the existing infrastructure to meet the growing demand for electricity. This feeder will cover the area of Orikum Beach and the village of Tragjas, a rapidly developing tourist area, guaranteeing an uninterrupted and stable supply of electricity and ensuring increased network sustainability in areas with high development.
According to the document, the cabins will be located as close as possible to the load center, to guarantee efficient and sustainable electricity supply. This project will be developed respecting the principles, criteria and current conditions of urban development.
