Albanian industry aims for 80% growth in 2030 - "Made in Albania", towards more exports

The manufacturing industry is expected to take on a larger role in the Albanian economy over the coming years. The National Industrial Strategy 2026–2030 places this sector at the center of economic transformation, with the aim of increasing domestic production, exports, and investments in value-added activities.
According to the document, the manufacturing industry currently represents a still limited share in the economy, while the objective is to increase its contribution to at least 9% of GDP by 2030. Likewise, the share of manufacturing industry products in total exports of goods is intended to increase from 75.4% in 2025 to at least 80% by the end of the decade.
The strategy links this objective to technological modernization, increased productivity, and stronger integration of Albanian enterprises into European value chains. This means that the focus will not only be on increasing the quantity of production, but also on the quality, standards, and ability of Albanian products to compete in European Union markets.
One of the main challenges remains the transition from an economic model based on low labor costs, towards a model that relies on technology, innovation and higher value products. In this context, the strategy foresees support for manufacturing sectors, improvement of standards and greater orientation of public and private investments towards industry.
