The number of road vehicles in Albania continues to grow at a steady pace, exceeding the figure of 1 million in the first quarter of 2026. According to official data, a total of 1,068,251 vehicles were registered in circulation, an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period last year, which reflects the expansion of the automobile fleet and the increased use of individual transport in the country.

Durrës ranks second with 13.6%, while regions such as Gjirokastra and Kukës remain at the bottom of the list with 2.1% and 2.4% of the total, respectively.
Meanwhile, the new vehicle market continues to be active. In the first three months of the year alone, almost 22 thousand vehicles were registered for the first time, an increase of 8.7% compared to the previous year. In this regard, Tirana also leads convincingly with 42.3% of new registrations, indicating a concentration of demand in the capital.
