Golem's electrical substation is being strengthened - Karakaçi: We

The strengthening of the Golem electrical substation has been completed, which has increased from 31.5 megawatts to 80 megawatts and now supplies the entire Coast area from Golem to the point bordering Qerret.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, was in Golem to visit the substation, which has recently been put into operation and which, with its increased capacity, will respond even better to all the numerous constructions in that area.

"This is actually a new substation, where we have doubled the capacity, providing an almost definitive solution to the 50 thousand inhabitants that this substation supplies, including tourist areas such as Mali i Robit, Golemi, but which goes all the way to Qerret for supply, but in the meantime we have not stopped only with this substation, as OSHEE has a plan of measures for the year 2026 for this area ," said the Minister.

The process of strengthening the Porto Romano substation has also begun, which will increase from 50 megawatts to almost 100 megawatts, while there is also a plan to strengthen the Spille network to 20 kilovolts.

"We have had a concern over the past few years regarding the Spille area, which last year and we are completing during this period, we have closed the first phase of the investment there. It is an important investment, as it affects the area where we have had a few more problems in the coastal part that this area of the Adriatic covers, but OSHEE has an investment plan to continue this investment in a second phase and to go even further ," said Karakaçi.

According to the Minister, all these investments are important not only for our standards, for reducing losses, but are also important for providing security and a very good standard of supply to all residents of the area.
