Taxes and the EU discuss the objectives of the Growth Plan and the fight against evasion

The Director General of the Tax Administration, Ilir Binaj, held a working meeting with representatives of the European Union Delegation to Albania, where the focus was on the progress of the implementation of the four main objectives of the Growth Plan.
According to the announcement of the General Directorate of Taxes, during the meeting, the audit of high-risk wealthy individuals was discussed, based on self-declared data and information provided by third parties.
Also part of the discussions was the creation of an asset register for 10% of total taxpayers, as well as the pre-filling of VAT returns for all VAT entities and the DIVA return for individual taxpayers, with the aim of simplifying procedures and increasing tax compliance.
Another important point was strengthening the performance of tax fraud investigation and increasing the efficiency of fiscal administration.
The Tax Administration emphasized that it remains committed to fulfilling strategic objectives, advancing reforms and aligning with European standards within the framework of Albania's integration process into the European Union.
