Demo: Diaspora can become an actor of change in the territory by investing
Minister of State for Local Government, Ervin Demo, stated today that with its investments, the diaspora can become an actor of change in the territory.
During the proceedings of the IV Diaspora Summit in Tirana, Demo stated that the relationship with the diaspora cannot be perceived simply and solely based on remittances, but above all, the diaspora can now play a very active role, especially in the discovery of the territory.
Focusing on the role that the diaspora plays in economic development, Demo emphasized that Albania today offers extraordinary opportunities in every corner of it.
"We currently have a tourist boom. This is also shown by the fact that we have the largest airport in the Balkans, an indicator of visitors coming to our country. Day by day it is becoming clear that many representatives of the diaspora are choosing to invest in Albania, even in the field of real estate," said Demo.
The government's initiative for the Mountain Package, according to him, within the framework of rural development in the territory promises to address regional development, creating opportunities for certain areas that have not had development to date.
According to him, there is an extraordinary interest from Albanians living abroad who are willing to invest where their family comes from.
"Regional development is also very important in terms of territorial empowerment through municipalities. Albania now has the right conditions to offer the right guarantees to develop entrepreneurship," said Demo.
