The Transparency Board increases the price of fuel, diesel goes to 191 lek/liter

The Transparency Board decided at its next meeting the new ceiling prices for the trading of petroleum by-products, which will enter into force today, at 3:00 PM.
According to the decision, the retail price for SSH EN 590 standard diesel will be no more than 191 lek/liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 179 lek/liter, increasing the price by 6 lek/liter.
Meanwhile, for gasoline, the retail price ceiling has been set at 175 lek/liter and 164 lek/liter in wholesale, reflecting fluctuations in international markets and the exchange rate.
The selling price of diesel for fishing is set at 96 lek.
Authorities announce that the new prices will remain in effect until the next meeting, where they will be reviewed depending on market developments.
Also, the obligation for all retail and wholesale operators to implement the decision has been emphasized.
In case of violations, suspension of activity is announced for entities that do not respect the set prices.
The Board emphasizes that, referring to Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026, the excise duty level remains 100%, as the prices set are below the established thresholds of 220 lek/liter for diesel and 200 lek/liter for gasoline.
Responsible institutions, including line ministries, continue their commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring fair competition in the fuel market.
