"Within the year, a new law on strategic investments" - Ibrahimaj: We will begin the consultation process
The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, in a statement to the media, provided a summary and analysis of the economic indicators of the first quarter of 2026.
“The highest sectors were the administration, public health and education sector, the professional activities sector, the construction sector, and the real estate sector. In real terms, construction increased by 3.33%, trade, transport, 1.61%, information and communication increased by 1.48%, financial and insurance activities increased by 5%, real estate by 8.9%, the professional activities sector by 7.32%.”
Among other things, Minister Ibrahimaj also focused on advancing the growth of European standards for small and medium-sized enterprises. She emphasized that the law on strategic investments will also be approved this year.
"We have undertaken to adopt the new investment law within this year. To conduct an analysis for all EU countries with the aim of attracting investments to their countries. Within the summer we will begin a consultation process for the investment law according to EU standards and for attracting investments in disadvantaged areas."
Minister Ibrahimaj also stated that during September, the government will present the components of the pension scheme reform, explaining that the areas where interventions will be made public will then be made public.
