National Flight School Opens - Rama: Training and Certification for NATO and

The National Flight School has been opened, which will train pilots and air traffic controllers in Albania according to NATO standards. This School was established in collaboration with Elbit Systems, the Israeli company for the production of military technologies.

According to Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Albanian Armed Forces are today the best paid in the region, while the goal is that by 2030, the Albanian Armed Forces will be on par with NATO forces in terms of the state's contribution to their salaries. He said that this school will also prepare pilots for Kosovo and other countries in the region that are part of NATO, while the next step will be the establishment of the National School of Special Forces.

"We have a considerable number of interested parties, while our National Flight School is also open to train and certify new pilots from NATO countries in our region and undoubtedly starting from Kosovo. The next step is the National Special Forces School. Again, with our partners at Elbit Systems, we are in discussions to bring here world excellence in training, education and certification of Special Forces from Israel, and again the National Special Forces School will be a school open to others ," said Rama.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Ermal Nufi stated that two new Bell 505 helicopters will assist in the training of National Flight School students.

"These two new Bell 505 training helicopters, which have now joined the capacities of our air forces, also have a special role, as a modern platform for training pilots for the future. They will create the conditions for trainees to develop their skills in a training environment that supports the demands of the time," declared the Minister of Defense.

According to KAYO Administrator, Ardi Veliu, the time has come for our pilots to be trained within the country, for this purpose the Flight School was created.

"In every NATO member country, the ability to train pilots and technical personnel within the country is considered an important element of national security. Even our country cannot rely indefinitely on training abroad. It must build its own capacities, with international standards, with modern infrastructure and with the expertise of the best partners ," said the KAYO Administrator.

Such initiatives are being undertaken in order to increase Albania's defense capacities.
