"Electric buses and logistics park for public transport" - Rama: New program also for parking in all municipalities

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the national program "Urban Renaissance 2.0" will include new measures to modernize public transport and improve parking infrastructure in all municipalities in the country.
During a meeting with local government leaders, Rama said that one of the main objectives is the transition to a fleet of zero-pollution electric buses, administered by municipalities, to improve urban and interurban transport, especially during the tourist season.
He also announced the creation of a logistics park, which will serve municipalities for infrastructure maintenance, cleaning, interventions in drainage channels, and management of post-emergency situations.
Another component of the program will be the implementation of a special parking scheme, which will be made available to all municipalities. According to Rama, the government will offer different financing models, through the Albanian Development Fund, partnerships with local governments and facilitating access to loans for dedicated projects.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the scheme will also encourage cooperation with the private sector for the construction of modern parking lots in areas where parking is currently carried out informally, with the aim of improving the functionality of cities, the quality of life of citizens, and bringing Albania's urban standards closer to those of the European Union.
