'Albania is a valuable ally' - Takaichi: We aim to expand cooperation

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi praised the relations between Japan and Albania during her meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Tokyo, emphasizing that the two countries share common visions and principles in the international arena.

In her speech at the beginning of the meeting between the delegations, Takaichi expressed her satisfaction with Rama's visit to Japan and described it as an important opportunity to strengthen political dialogue and deepen the partnership between the two countries.

According to her, Albania remains a reliable partner for Japan and a country with which there are stable relations based on democratic values ​​and mutual respect. She also praised the progress that Albania is making in the European integration process, underlining that Tokyo supports the country's path towards membership in the European Union.

The Japanese Prime Minister recalled that within the framework of cooperation initiatives with the Western Balkan countries, Japan will continue to contribute to projects that promote economic development, stability and the region's rapprochement with European structures.

Takaichi also praised Albania's role in maintaining regional stability and cooperation, considering its important contribution to a region that has historically experienced numerous political and geopolitical challenges.

Part of the discussions was also devoted to cooperation at the global level. The Japanese Prime Minister thanked Albania for supporting Japan's vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific, emphasizing that the security and prosperity of different regions of the world are today more interconnected than ever.

She added that Japan aims to intensify cooperation with Albania not only on the diplomatic level, but also in the economic, cultural and security fields, paving the way for new partnerships in the coming years.
