Minister Malaj with NATO Ambassador: Progressive increase in defense investments
I had the pleasure of welcoming to an important meeting the United States Ambassador to NATO, Mr. Matthew Whitaker, along with the accompanying delegation.
Together with the Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, we reaffirmed the consolidated strategic partnership between Albania and the United States, as a key pillar of our security architecture.
Albania remains committed to fulfilling its commitments within the Euro-Atlantic Alliance, continuing efforts to strengthen defense capacities and increase national resilience.
In this context, our country will continue to contribute progressively to the increase in investments in the field of defense, in line with the joint commitment of member countries to reach the level of up to 5% of GDP by 2035, with a particular focus on the development of the military industry and technological innovation.
This strategic orientation further consolidates Albania's profile as a reliable partner and active contributor to NATO.
