Prime Minister Rama: We will support Albanian businesses with loans with 2-3% interest rates
The Albanian government and the banking system have signed a partnership for the national financing program for small and medium-sized enterprises, a scheme that aims to facilitate access to finance for Albanian enterprises. Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the program was built in response to the growing demand of businesses for financing and expansion of activity.
"It is an open door for small and medium-sized enterprises to grow through low-interest loans and the government's sovereign guarantee," said Rama. According to him, the program will offer loans with interests from 2 to 3%, while the state will cover from 30 to 70% of the financing risk through the sovereign guarantee.
The head of government said that the scheme aims to support especially small businesses that have established their foundations after many years of work and that require capital to invest further. “People with ideas, energy and will need to have the state on their side to expand their activity,” declared Rama. He added that the program is expected to create concrete opportunities for thousands of Albanian enterprises, including businesses set up by emigrants who have returned to the country with professional experience and new investment ideas.
