Cooperation between the State Police and the Albanian Road Safety Agency is intensified to increase road safety

The Director General of the State Police, Major General Skender Hita, accompanied by the Director of the Department of Public Order and Security and the Director of the Road Police, visited the National Traffic Monitoring Center.
Director Hita was received by the General Director of the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), Mr. Ami Kozeli, as well as by the leaders of the National Traffic Monitoring Center.
The purpose of the visit was to find ways for the State Police to benefit from the footage produced by functional cameras and radars, as well as from the equipment that will be installed.
These images will serve not only the Traffic Police, in the function of identifying and punishing violations of road traffic rules, but also other State Police structures, to increase public safety parameters, prevent criminal events, as well as their legal clarification and documentation.
During the meeting, the Director General of the State Police, Skender Hita, emphasized that the use of modern logistical tools and intelligent technology, minimizing direct contact between Police officers and road users, will have a positive impact not only on increasing road safety parameters, but also on strengthening the image of the country and the State Police.
For his part, the General Director of the ARA, Mr. Ami Kozeli, praised the institutional cooperation with the State Police, underlining that coordination between institutions will directly impact the increase in safety on road axes and the improvement of traffic monitoring standards.
At the end of the meeting, Hita and Kozeli agreed to finalize the cooperation for obtaining images, as well as to enable the calibration of radars on road axes and in tunnels, in order for the images and data obtained to be made available to the State Police for verification and punishment of violations with administrative measures.
