Governor Sejko part of the regional roundtable on SEPA and TIPS Clone

Governor Sejko participated in a regional roundtable with the central banks of the Western Balkans and the Bank of Italy, where progress in the implementation of SEPA and the TIPS Clone project was discussed.
During the discussion, the Governor emphasized that the Bank of Albania is advancing in fulfilling the technical requirements for connection to TIPS, while the banking sector has expressed high willingness to be included in this system and the process is expected to develop gradually.
He also highlighted the importance of developing supporting services and the need for close regional cooperation, in order to maximize the benefits of instant payments and increase interoperability. These developments are essential for modernizing the payments market and advancing the cashless agenda.
