ARRSH, new project for the northern entrance of Tirana/Kozeli: New connection with the Arbri road. Expansion of Tirana – Durrës, up to Vora
The Albanian Road Authority will start designing the northern entrance to Tirana, a project that aims to ease traffic in the capital. Invited to the Inside News show, the head of the Albanian Road Authority, Ami Kozeli, also announced that another project is being considered that will connect the city with the Arbri road.
" We will start designing the northern entrance to Tirana, which means unloading traffic towards the north. So, it will be the design and implementation that we have foreseen in our medium-term budget and this is something that will be yet another additional solution for the city's traffic. Also, we have a project coming from the Municipality of Tirana that connects with the "Arbërit" road, which we are now reviewing within our authority and we are of course in communication with the Municipality of Tirana to start implementing this contract, which will again greatly ease traffic in the city ," said Kozeli.
In parallel, the head of the Regional Road Administration said that the expansion of the Tirana - Durrës highway, up to Vora, is also a priority.
" We want to bring the contracts closer because we have them foreseen in the medium-term budget, but we have them for next year. Meanwhile, with the approval of the Normative Acts, the ministry wants to bring them closer to implementation, that is, to bring them closer within this year, so that we can conclude them during this year, so that in 2027 they can be implemented as contracts. And we are talking about phases four and five, where the works will advance to Vora, that is, at the exit of Fushë - Krujë ", - said the head of the ARRSH.
Kozeli also spoke about the progress of some of the main projects in the country, such as Corridor VIII, emphasizing, among other things, that the final solution has been found to avoid dividing the village of Hotolisht into 2 parts. According to him, a tunnel will be built on this part of the Elbasan - Qafë Thanë road, while in parallel work is being done on the design of the other part of the road, which will connect with North Macedonia.
