Trump "slams" Iran's ceasefire response - "It's

US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's conditions to end the war in the Middle East, after the Islamic Republic responded to Washington's latest proposal earlier in the day.

Iranian state television reported that Tehran rejected the US proposal as tantamount to surrender, insisting instead on "war reparations from the US, full Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, an end to sanctions and the release of seized Iranian assets."

Trump himself did not elaborate on Tehran's counterproposal, but in a brief post on his Truth Social platform he made it clear that he was rejecting it. "I just read the response from the so-called 'Representatives' of Iran. I do not like it -- Totally unacceptable!" Trump said.

Tehran's response to the American plan, which was passed on to Pakistani mediators, focuses on ending the war "on all fronts, especially in Lebanon," as well as "ensuring the security of maritime transport."

Meanwhile, drones were launched at multiple targets across the Gulf, with one hitting a cargo ship bound for Qatar. "Any attack on Iranian tankers and merchant ships will result in a severe attack on one of the American centers in the region and enemy ships," Iranian media reported, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to Qatar's defense ministry, a small fire broke out on the merchant ship but there were no casualties, while in Kuwait, the military said it repelled a drone attack at dawn.

Earlier, South Korea said one of its cargo ships, damaged days earlier in the Strait of Hormuz, was hit by "two unidentified aircraft" and that analysis was being conducted on debris and engine fragments to determine the origin of the attack. Iran denies responsibility for the May 4 attack.
