Investment for the electricity network in rural areas of Burrel - OSSH opens the competition over 213 million lek. Aiming for more security and efficiency
The Regional Directorate of OSSH Burrel has announced the opening of the procurement procedure for the project "Reconstruction of the 10 kV MV and 0.4 kV LV network, an investment worth 213 million 1 thousand 740 lek.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the project will extend to several peripheral areas of Burrel, including Gjalishi, Mallunxi, Prelli, Shlli, Shqefeni, Kurdari, Ketë and Cërrujë. The project aims to modernize the electricity distribution network, replacing the existing infrastructure, which for years has been considered depreciated and outside optimal technical parameters.
The OSSH argues that the need for this investment is related to the urban and demographic development of the area, as well as the increase in demand for electricity in recent years. Faced with this situation, the OSSH assesses that the current infrastructure is no longer able to cope with the increasing loads.
According to the document, the current medium and low voltage network is in a depreciated state, with high energy losses, frequent defects and insufficient capacity to cope with the growing demand. It also poses increased risks to the safety of consumers and technical personnel. Consequently, reconstruction is considered a necessary investment to guarantee a more stable and qualitative supply. The existing infrastructure, built mainly decades ago, has passed its optimal period of operation and requires immediate intervention.
Meanwhile, the project foresees the construction of new 0.4 kilovolt low voltage lines, as well as the installation of new 10/0.4 kilovolt and 6/0.4 kilovolt transformer cabins. This investment will improve the energy supply for hundreds of household and private subscribers, increasing efficiency.
