According to Eurostat data for 2025, the price level for the Software category in Albania is lower than the European Union average. The index recorded for our country is 96.4 points, while the EU average is set at 100 points, which shows that the prices of software products and services in Albania are slightly lower compared to the European market.
Compared to the countries in the region, Albania is in an intermediate position. North Macedonia registers an index of 96 points, having the lowest level among the neighboring countries included in the table, while Albania ranks immediately behind it with 96.4 points. On the other hand, Montenegro has an index of 98.1 points, indicating a slightly higher level of software prices compared to Albania.
In this category, Serbia is the country in the region with an index higher than the European average, reaching 103.2 points. This means that software prices in the Serbian market are higher not only compared to Albania, but also compared to the average level of the European Union.
Noticeable differences also appear in other European countries. In Turkey, the index for software is only 87.4 points, making it one of the lowest-priced markets in the table. Meanwhile, Switzerland scores the highest with 109.7 points, indicating a higher cost for this category.
The data shows that Albania has reached a considerable proximity to European levels for software prices. Although the domestic market remains slightly cheaper than the EU average, the difference with the countries of the region is small, reflecting a technological market increasingly integrated with European developments.
