Malaj meets with the new head of the EBRD in Albania: We strengthen cooperation on strategic projects

The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, hosted a meeting with the new Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Albania, Hannes Takacs, who was accompanied by the current director, Ekaterina Solovova, and other representatives of the institution.
During the meeting, the sustainable partnership between the Albanian Government and the EBRD was appreciated, as one of the international financial institutions that has made a significant contribution to the financing of strategic projects for the country's economic development.
Minister Malaj expressed his appreciation for the contribution made by Ekaterina Solovova during her tenure in Albania, appreciating the fruitful cooperation so far. At the same time, he welcomed Hannes Takacs to his new position, expressing his confidence that the partnership between Albania and the EBRD will continue to strengthen even further.
Minister Malaj underlined the important role of the EBRD in financing projects with a direct impact on the country's economic and infrastructural development, emphasizing the need to deepen cooperation in priority sectors, in line with sustainable development objectives and Albania's European integration process.
For his part, the new EBRD Director, Hannes Takacs, reconfirmed the institution's commitment to continue supporting Albania through financing projects that promote economic growth, infrastructure modernization, green transition, and private sector development.
The meeting also served to discuss the progress of ongoing projects, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation in new initiatives of common interest.
The EBRD has been and remains a strategic partner of Albania. Since 1992, the Bank has committed over €1.1 billion in financing projects in the transport, energy, financial services and other priority areas, making a significant contribution to the modernization of the country's infrastructure and sustainable development.
