Workforce, the challenge of the next 10 years - American Chamber of Commerce presents the business index for 2025
Finding qualified staff for businesses in Albania is the main challenge of the next 10 years. The American Chamber of Commerce has presented for the 14th consecutive year the business index, which for the year 2025 has decreased by 6.13 points, reaching a total score of 40.34 out of 100.
Besides the workforce, the main concerns of business continue to be monopolies, bureaucracy, and the political climate, while there are indicators that have shown significant improvement compared to a year ago.
"There are several indicators that have improved, such as electricity supply, demand for goods and services in exports, relations with customs authorities, changes in investments, employment, etc.," said Neritan Mullaj, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Business is asking the government to intervene in 7 main pillars in order to improve the climate for entrepreneurship.
"Strengthening the investment climate and regulatory framework, strengthening anti-corruption measures and increasing transparency, implementing effective public consultations, implementing a modern tax system to increase competitiveness and attract investment, implementing a sustainable tourism industry."
The AmCham Albania Business Index reflects, through a single composite score, AmCham members' perception of the business environment in Albania. The index is calculated based on the results of a fixed set of 25 survey questions.
