Around 10.2 million foreigners in Albania for 9 months/ 15.3% increase in business arrivals in September

According to the latest data from the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), Albania has recorded a significant increase in the flow of entries and exits of citizens during the month of September 2025, reflecting the vitality of the post-tourist period.
During this month, a total of about 1.96 million Albanians and foreigners entered the country's territory, which represents an increase of 9.5% compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, exits from Albanian territory reached about 2.1 million, with an increase of 10.4% compared to September 2024.
The number of Albanian citizens who entered the country during September was around 705 thousand, with an annual increase of 8.9%. The number of exits was equally dynamic, with around 772 thousand, around 10.7% more than a year earlier.
On the other hand, in September 2025, around 1.25 million foreigners entered Albania, with an annual increase of 9.9%. The growth of tourism after the summer seems to be extending into the months after the main season, indicating a sustained interest in Albanian destinations. 95% of foreign arrivals come from Europe, with Southern Europe leading with 69% of the total, followed by Western Europe (12%) and Central/Eastern Europe (11%).
In total, for the period January-September 2025, 10.2 million foreign arrivals were recorded, reflecting an overall increase of 7.1%. These figures reinforce the fact that Albania is experiencing high population mobility, influenced by tourism, seasonal migration and cross-border economic activities.
According to statistics, 98% of foreign arrivals are for personal purposes, such as vacations, family visits or tourist trips. However, an interesting element is the increase in arrivals for business and professional purposes, which have increased by 15.3% compared to the previous year. This also indicates a positive movement in the field of international economic and professional cooperation.
