World Law Congress, Albania, active contributor to the global dialogue on the rule of law

"The rule of law is not given, it is built." - this is one of the messages that will come as a common international voice for justice from Tirana, which over the course of two days will be an important point of reference for one of the most essential topics for the future of democratic societies, through the Opening Session of the World Congress of Law, which will be held in the capital.
Organized by the World Association of Jurists in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, and with the participation of government representatives, international judges, experts and legal academics from around the world, this event marks a moment of pride for Albania, as a stronger voice in the international arena with a clear commitment to justice, integrity and a European future.
Albania is now represented with a new role on the international stage, from a country that once sought justice with European standards, to today an active contributor to the global dialogue on the rule of law, evidence of the progress and transformation of the justice system.
The activities will begin on May 6 with the ceremony of awarding Doctor Honoris Causa titles to distinguished personalities in the field of law, which will be held at the University of Arts in Tirana, while on May 7 the official Opening Session ceremony will take place at the National Opera and Ballet Theater.
Among the high-level guests will be the President of the UN, Javier Cremades; former European Commissioner for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, Viviane Reding; Executive Director of the World Law Foundation, Angela Montoya; as well as other important figures of international jurisprudence. The President of the European Court of Human Rights, Mattias Guyomar, will also greet the audience through a video message.
Prime Minister Edi Rama will also participate in the Opening Session, and will deliver a welcoming speech.
This event marks an important milestone on the path towards the 2027 World Law Congress, reaffirming the commitment of the international legal community to a world order governed by law.
