Labor Inspectorate, inspections at construction sites of tourist structures - Muçaj: In addition to construction, the tourism sector will have over 2000 inspections

Occupational safety is becoming one of the main priorities of the State Labor Inspectorate, especially on the eve of the tourist season, when the intensity of construction works and service activity increases significantly. In an interview with Scan TV, the Chief Inspector of the State Labor Inspectorate, Eljo Muçaj, stated that awareness campaigns have also been launched at construction sites and tourism-related entities.
"As you are aware, the Labor Inspectorate has been launching a campaign in the construction sector for almost 3-4 weeks, which is precisely related to raising awareness and strengthening the culture of safety and health at work, giving special focus to the use of personal protective equipment, but not only, which are directly related to safety at work. And construction is definitely related to the tourism sector. Because in this period, the intensity of work in construction or tourism projects is high as they seek to be completed before the start of the season. And the focus of the inspectorate is increased on those construction sites or entities operating in construction, related to the tourism sector in terms of safety and health at work."
Chief Inspector Muçaj, among other things, stated that the institution he leads is drafting a concrete plan of measures for the tourism sector. He emphasized that 70% of the inspection plan focuses on tourism.
"About 70% of the plan that will be developed in the next 3-4 months will be focused on the tourism sector. This translated into numbers, there will be over 2000 inspections that will be in tourism, so based on the selection of those entities that have a high risk, and the number of employees is of a high level. Another thing that is added to this year's analysis and plan is that, in addition to entities that are related, which are entities that operate in the field of tourism, which can be hotels, bars and restaurants."
According to Chief Inspector Muçaj, those entities that are related to tourism, such as distribution, laundries, cleaning, etc., which are entities that operate in the function of this sector, have also become part of the work plans.
