Energy complaints and requests - ERE: Changes in contracts and billing top the

Over 125 thousand complaints and requests were registered during 2025 by electricity consumers with the Universal Service Provider and Distribution System Operator, part of OSHEE Group, while most of them are related to changes in contract data and energy metering issues.

According to the Energy Regulatory Authority, the number has decreased by almost 8,500 compared to a year ago.

The category with the highest number of cases remains that of requests for changes in contract data, with 62,836 cases. These requests are mainly related to the clarification of contractual data, change of family name or change of property user.

Meanwhile, 40,537 cases are related to electricity metering issues, while 18,728 complaints have been registered regarding billing. In addition, 2,934 requests for service quality and 215 complaints regarding payments or credits have been reported.

ERE assesses that the high volume of requests for contractual changes indicates the need to improve the initial data recording and strengthen self-control mechanisms by the supplier. According to this department, inaccuracies in contractual data affect the correctness of billing and the contractual relationship with the consumer.
