Rinas Airport welcomes up to 56 thousand passengers per day - Police and customs

Rinas International Airport is facing the highest influx of passengers, as a result of the tourist season. To manage the increased movements, the State Police and the customs administration have reinforced measures, with the aim of faster processing of passengers and guaranteeing security at the border.

The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, and the head of Customs, Besmir Beja, closely inspected the work of the Border Police and customs services structures at the airport.

According to data, Rinas processes an average of about 50 thousand passengers per day, while on days with the highest flow this number reaches up to 56 thousand.

"At Rinas Airport, 50 thousand passengers are handled and processed per day, with the highest flow on certain days being 56 thousand passengers processed in one day. Regarding the increased flow we have, the gates we have or the automatic control, it has given a very good result, where we have reduced the age from 16 to 12 years old for children, and this has made it possible for us to reduce the service time, but at the same time the number of people passing through the gates is also increasing",  said Skënder Hita, General Director of the State Police.

The use of automatic gates and increased operational capacities have helped reduce waiting times and avoid long queues, especially during peak hours. On the other hand, the Director General of Customs, Besmir Beja, praised the cooperation between institutions, emphasizing that the police and customs services operate without interruption.

"This is really a sign of very good cooperation with the State Police, extraordinary cooperation. Both services, be it police and customs, are operating 24 hours a day, to respond to this increased flow."

The leaders of the two institutions stated that the increased measures and inter-institutional cooperation have enabled them to cope with the record flow of passengers, while simultaneously guaranteeing border security, preventing cross-border crime, and providing faster services to citizens and tourists.
