November brought strong growth in visitors/ 30% more tourists and overnight stays during this month

November has confirmed the continuation of the upward trend in tourism in Albania, reflecting an increasingly extended season and growing interest from domestic and foreign visitors. According to data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), accommodation structures in the country have recorded significant growth compared to the same month last year.
In total, the number of visitors increased by about 30%. Foreign visitors recorded an increase of 29.8%, while domestic visitors also recorded a significant increase, almost 28%. These figures show an increased demand for tourism services even outside the summer season.
In parallel with the increase in visitors, the number of overnight stays has also increased significantly. Overall, overnight stays increased, with particular emphasis on non-resident visitors, who recorded 32.5% more overnight stays compared to November of the previous year. The increase in overnight stays by foreigners was particularly evident in non-coastal areas, with an increase of 21.6%, as well as in hotels and similar accommodation structures, where the increase reached 29.8%.
In terms of geographical distribution, the central region continues to remain the most popular among visitors, welcoming around 72 thousand tourists during the month of November, which confirms its role as a major hub of cultural and urban tourism.
The data also shows that in November 2025, the majority of non-resident visitors who were accommodated in accommodation facilities in Albania came from Italy, which accounts for 19% of the total, followed by Kosovo with 18% and Germany with 9%. France and the United Kingdom contributed 6% and 5% respectively, while 43% of visitors came from other countries, reflecting a diversification of tourism markets.
In this positive context, the hotel room occupancy rate has also improved, reaching 22.2% in November 2025, from 19.5% in the same month of 2024. These developments testify to the gradual strengthening of tourism throughout the year and to the increase in Albania's attractiveness as a destination for international visitors.
