Fuel prices rise again/ Transparency Board increases diesel price to 206

The Transparency Board decided at its next meeting the new ceiling prices for the trading of petroleum by-products, which will come into effect today at 2:00 PM.

According to the decision, the retail price for SSH EN 590 standard diesel will be no more than 206 lek/liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 194 lek/liter, increasing the price by 4 lek/liter.

Meanwhile, for gasoline, the retail price ceiling has been set at 181 lek/liter and 169 lek/liter in wholesale, reflecting fluctuations in international markets and the exchange rate.

Authorities announce that the new prices will remain in effect until the next meeting, where they will be reviewed depending on market developments.

Also, the obligation for all retail and wholesale operators to implement the decision has been emphasized.

In case of violations, suspension of activity is announced for entities that do not respect the set prices.

In an official clarification, the Board emphasizes that, referring to Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026, the excise duty level remains at 100%, as the prices set are below the established thresholds of 220 lek/liter for diesel and 200 lek/liter for gasoline.

Responsible institutions, including line ministries, continue their commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring fair competition in the fuel market.
