Shiroka-Zogaj axis ends in mid-May - Koçiu: Traffic will be eased, important investment for tourism

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi inspected the works on the Shiroka - Zogaj segment, a new axis that will serve for the development of the area and tourism.
It is a very good job on this 6.5 km road segment, which will facilitate the circulation of citizens and goods, the added value is because the tourist offer becomes attractive in function of the tourist season, the development of the city of Shkodra. We are uniting with Montenegro, we currently have an agreement in force to establish a common border crossing point, where border services are taken at the same point. Enabling police and customs services at the same border crossing point. The road axis from Montenegro is completed.
Meanwhile, this axis is expected to create a new connection between Albania and Montenegro, turning the city of Shkodra into one of the most important nodes of regional and tourist development. It is intended that this road axis will be finished by mid-May.
We are not talking about a road axis, but it is part of a very important tourist connection between the part of Shiroka and Zogaj. The works are combined, we also have the water supply project in Shiroka, the sewerage in Shiroka and Zogaj, and the 20 kV network.
We have infrastructure investments in the Velipoja axis, the revitalization part of Buna, to create a more accessible part for tourists, including investments in Malësia e Madhe. It is a whole investment package for the North, for the Shkodra region. An important investment for tourism.
The road is 6.5 kilometers long, of which 4.5 kilometers constitute the expansion of the existing road along the lake. Meanwhile, the bypass in the center of the village of Zogaj is another key segment that will help in easier circulation and turning the area into an attractive tourist and economic destination.
